Facilities

A comprehensive range of cooking equipment, electric cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer, WiFi, Smart Freeview flat screen TV and Xbox 360 (which can be used as a DVD player). Modern electric radiators are in all rooms, iron, ironing board, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Our visitors tell us that the house is as well-equipped as their own homes.

Pub
Our nearest pub is the Norada Grill & Tavern, just down the riverbank at Potter Heigham, a pleasant 15 minute walk. We personally prefer The Lion Inn at Thurne, it's about a ten minute drive from the car park. An evening journey to and from the pub can reveal just how much wildlife there is in the area with deer, hares and barn owls being commom sights.

Shops
Our local shops are at Potter Heigham a 15 minute walk down the riverbank. The famous Lathams store is there too with its large fishing tackle shop. There are cafes and a burger van that all the locals use.

For a large supermarket and a good variety of shops we use Stalham (Tesco) but Acle has a large Co-op and a variety of shops too. Both of these are about a 15 minute drive from the car park.

Beach
Recommended beaches: Sea Palling, great for dog walking or just a seaside walk, vast open sands when the tide is out with plenty of room for everyone. Great Yarmouth needs no introduction and is 25 min drive. Horsey Gap and its grey seal colony is worth a visit. Mating season is interesting, 1000s of seals can be on the beaches and they are protected by a fence at this time of year as they can be territorial but you still have the opportunity to look from above. The seals are there all year round but in fewer numbers and no fences during the rest of the year.

Fishing
Go at the right time and feed correctly and you'll have a full net. Best time for pleasure fishing is between June 15th and the end of September. Pike fishing is best between November and March, your need to hire a boat to get the best out of the pike fishing. If you require more information please let us know.
